News of Our Movement
28.02.2026 — the ongoing Women’s ECO Exchange Space once again held an eco-swap in the Neve Sha’anan neighborhood of Haifa. The initiative’s long-standing leader and organizer, Sveta Rozenfeld, regularly holds such events ahead of holidays and on various social occasions, while consistently maintaining their environmental meaning and public value. 23.02.2026 — in February, as part of RE-HAIFA’s public education activities, a series of 4 lectures on the waste management system took place. The lectures were held on Mondays starting from February 2 and focused on the key environmental, economic, and institutional aspects of this field. Course materials are available in the “School of Environmental Management” section of the website. See more...
20–21.02.2026 — the Re-Haifa team took part in a two-day eco-activism retreat held at the KKL-JNF field center in Tzipori. The seminar brought together lectures, group work, discussions of urban environmental issues, tools for civic participation, communication strategies, and the design of new initiatives. One of its most important outcomes was the creation of new contacts, agreements, and first alliances for future environmental projects. We also note that during the seminar, a spontaneous and very revealing “laboratory exercise” on waste management emerged, with a focus on organic and food waste — we will devote a separate post to this topic. 11.01.2026 — activists and volunteers of Re-Haifa held a working seminar to approve the 2026 action plan. 08.01.2026 — the Re-Haifa team helped organize and run the puppet-making workshop “Pocket Theatre”. The session was led by Yulia Ivanter, head of a Moscow theatre studio. For us, this event was especially meaningful because creativity was combined with an ecological approach: the puppets were made from available materials — socks, gloves, buttons, beads, and even packaging. The event took place at the space of our long-time partners — Martef 23 Community Center / Social Justice Center. See more...
26.12.2025 — the New Year eco-festival of Re-Haifa, organized in partnership with Martef 23 Community Center and the Hadar community, was warm, vibrant, and truly large-scale: around 100 people attended. During the day, we held 5 workshops for adults and children, a SWAP-PARTY, an eco-quiz with prizes, and a final auction. The festival became a vivid example of how a celebration can be created without unnecessary purchases — through sharing, reuse, and collective creativity. See more...
